Nowadays, the battery in almost all smartphones doesn’t last long for a day or two. It is a common problem with almost all smartphones and users are continuously hunting the ways to extend their battery life. One of the most reported issues or a common myth that overcharging reduces the battery life, but it actually depends on users how they charge their phone.
Overnight charging is something we all are concerned for, but it is completely wrong to say that never leave the phone on charge while you’re sleeping at night. As per the views of tech experts, the mechanism or workability of the latest phones is that they discontinue the connection between the battery and the power supply.
Unlike batteries in old phones, all modern smartphone manufacturers use lithium-ion batteries which provides full protection against overcharging issues. Still, there are issues with overcharging which users need to know so that they can adopt those safety measures to ensure long battery life.
How Overcharging Reduces the Battery’s Health and How One Can Improve Battery Life
Probably, overcharging might not affect the battery of modern day phones, but heating issues can. So it is important to know how to get rid of battery heat up issues while connected to a power source for a long time. Leaving a battery on the charger for a long time or the heavy cover attached with the phone can cause the battery heat up at a faster pace. On other hand, using the phone when it is connected to the power source can even cause the battery to heat up more quickly.
When the battery continues to drain when connected to the charger, then it will keep consuming the power to reach 100 percent which definitely increases the heating issues. Even using a phone in direct sunlight is injuries for the health of the battery and can decrease the battery life.
Make sure to switch off your phone or alternatively you can put it in Airplane mode to enable the battery to charge faster and reach the maximum limit in the least possible time. In case you can’t put the phone in airplane mode then at least stop all the apps running in the background and turn off Wi-Fi or mobile data which somehow reduces the battery usage.
It is also suggested that whenever you connect the phone with charger don’t forget to remove the heavy back cover to save the battery from overheating. Adopting these methods will definitely increase the battery life and help users to solve serious heating issues which are harmful to long battery life.
We sincerely hope that with the help of this article we’ve succeeded in clearing some common myths about overcharging. Users know now the things that cause issues of overheating in modern-day phones and even some simple ways to prevent these situations. So adopt these methods and ensure long battery life to make the best use of smartphones in your day to day life.
